Jesus reminds us that He is the true vine and we are the branches, lovingly tended by the Father who prunes us so we can bear more fruit. Sometimes that pruning feels sharp, but it is never meant to harm—only to strengthen, refine, and draw us closer to His life flowing through us. And as we grow through His shaping hand, we hold fast to the promise of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The One who prunes us is the same One who empowers us.
